Special to the Reporter

Last week’s visitors to the center were Joel Graves and Kade Thomas, who is Irene Jolly’s great-grandson.

We had a great time on St. Patrick’s Day. Alice Lance and Jim Riley won for wearing the most green.  Ila Verne Stull won the clothes pin game.

Winners of last week’s “42” Tournament were as follows:  First place, Dortha Beck and Floyd Flanary; second place, Loveda Swaim and Grady May; third place, Royce Stacy and Clark Stewart; and fourth place, Leta McKnight and Patsy Thompson.  Other teams playing were Nancy Moore and Marcy Copell, Billie and Eddie Flanary, Zula Hunter and Cora Harkins, Roger Jordan and Don Baker, Ann Parham and Alice Lance, and Dorothy Jo Osborn and Ila Verne Stull.  Thank you to Mary Baker for serving as tournament judge.

We would like to thank Dairy Queen and Burger King for the cups they have donated to be used at the bluegrass and gospel music covered dish dinner on the third Tuesdays.

On Friday, March 26,  we’re taking a group to see Greater Tuna at the Granbury Opera at 2:30 p.m. Since so many people are familiar with the original versions from the Metroplex, it has generated a lot of interest. So reserve your tickets early.  There will be a different cast playing in the Granbury version.  Come by the center to sign up and pay for tickets in advance. Ticket price is $10.

The Dinosaur Valley Extension Education group will be taking a tour of the Wiseman Chocolate House in Hico on Thursday, March 25. The cost is $10 per person and each will receive a $5 coupon for the Chocolate Factory store. Meet at the center for car pool at 9:45 a.m.  Contact Dot Brackin at 898-2547 or 592-9990 (cell).

We’d like to invite all seniors to join us on Thursday, April 1, for our annual Easter egg hunt at the center.

The center will be closed on Friday, April 2, for Easter.  We will re-open on Monday as usual.

Activities at the Citizens Center beginning on March 29 are: Wii games and exercise on Monday; needlework, ceramics and Screening 4 Life on Tuesday; AARP tax service on Wednesday; exercise, Agri Life, Easter egg hunt and David’s grocery shopping on Thursday; closed for the holiday on Friday.  Besides the scheduled activities, there are “42” games, puzzles, quilting and visiting going on every day.
