Well, I thought all day as to what to write about. Oh, dear, no news, what do I do? Make up something? Ok here we go, we dive right in and make it all work.
So how many of you made resolutions? Not me, it seems to be senseless since I always seem to fail after a few weeks. So I think Iíll just stay the way I am. Let me know how the rest of you are doing. What do you really want to change about yourself, and donít you all say ďyour bodyĒ. We are never happy with our bodies, we all want to look like the other person and it just isnít possible. Think about this for just a minute. If we all looked alike, wouldnít this be a really boring world to live in? How would you ever meet your soul mate, if we all looked alike? The clothing world would freak out without having many sizes of all different styles to sell to us. Ok, letís give this subject a rest, but please call or email your reply.
Just in case some of you have not heard about this bit of news. If you have a cell phone and want to make sure that you donít get any of those unwanted calls or text messages, you can still get on the National DO NOT CALL list for the cell phones. Each text message cost you money, unless under the message it tells you that this one is at no cost. So, if you call 888-382-1222 from the cell phone you want on the list, it will become effective in 30 days. Donít forget to also do this for your spouse and childrenís phones. It will only cost you a couple of minutes to make the call and save you from getting those unwanted calls and text for 5 years.
Teresa Townley was in today and she said she is doing much better. She started out 2009 by having to spend a few days in the hospital after becoming very sick. The doctors were really trying to find what she wasnít able to walk well and why so much pain. After 13 years of pain from sores on her legs, that the doctors have said were caused by a million different problems and never finding any results that worked. Teresa says this is the first time in a long time that she has no pain from her legs. She said she is still having a little problem walking but they are working on that now. Glad youíre back up and around and at the basketball games again. We missed you.
One of our star Junior Varsity basketball players may be out of the playing for a little while. Adam Galindo was out riding bikes with Tyler Yunek and decided to try and jump a sidewalk on the school grounds last Sunday. Tried, is the operative word there. He had a wreck that may have wrecked his shoulder. He was having surgery at the Stephenville Hospital on Friday morning and I havenít heard how that came out. Adam we all hope you are up and atíem very soon. You will be missed, especially on the basketball court.

Do you know how to recognize that someone might be having a stroke? Well, neither did I until I read this at work. But you can if you will remember these three simple questions to ask the person in trouble, STR. 1. S- Ask the individual to SMILE, 2. T- Ask the person to TALK or to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (coherently). 3. R- Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS. Then after asking these three questions and you are still not sure-ask the person to stick out their tongue. If the tongue is Ďcrookedí, if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher. A neurologist said that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke. So everyone has to move quick so that the person can be back to their old self with this help.
