The Somervell History Foundation will host its fourth annual Cowboys and Cabernet Gala at the historic 1860 Barnards Mill on May 12 at the mill on the banks of the Paluxy River.
This year's theme will be "Fiesta!" extraordinaire.
As always there will be entertainment, superb dining, exciting auction items and the friendly atmosphere of the mill to bring an evening of great fun.
The Somervell History Foundation's primary focus is its responsibility of restoring and preserving this significant piece of Texas history. Early records show the mill had many uses, one being the center of the social entertainment for those early pioneers. The wagons would bring the family and the night would ring with the sound of fiddle and laughter.
The feel of the early day still lingers long after the this annual event is over. Barnard's Mill and Art Museum holds its place as the "heartbeat" of the city.
The annual Cowboy's and Cabernet Gala is a major fundraising event for the facility. Gents shine their boots and brush their hats, and ladies start now to pick the latest fashions for an evening of fun and excitement.
