Special to the E-T
The Walnut Springs Historical Association recently received a donation from Atmos Energy Corporation. Shelley Burnett, public affairs manager, and Rick Morris, area serviceman, presented WSHA President William Offutt with the donation.
Atmos will join the growing number of WSHA supporters on the museum’s “Wall of Fame.”
“Through donations such as this and member participation, the Historical Association is achieving its goal of awareness and preservation,” said Charlene Freeman, WSHA secretary.
WSHA was established in June 2005. Through member participation and community support, the association has since opened a museum in downtown Walnut Springs. The museum is home to items that tell the story of Walnut Springs, the Katy Railroad and the citizens who worked hard to make it all possible.
Visit the museum on Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Special hours and activities will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, in celebration of Homecoming.
