On April 15-18, 12 Glen Rose High School FCCLA members traveled to Corpus Christi to compete in State STAR event contests. Members included seniors; Kaery Galindo, Maricruz Sanchez, Marietza De La Garza, Kathryn McCravey, Meggie Turner, Cortney Talley, Bailey Rogers, Samantha Ross, juniors; Daniela Torres, and Lindsey Livingston, sophomore Anna Kolath and freshman Devany Galindo.

Kathryn McCravey took home the gold in Chapter Show Case Display by winning first place in her division. She will be advancing to Nashville, TN to compete in the National FCCLA STAR event contest.

Other members that placed were Meggie Turner (fifth) and Cortney Talley (fourth), both in Fashion Design. Lindsey Livingston won fifth in Recycle and Redesign. Marietza De La Garza and Samantha Ross received fifth place in Applied Technology. The other members represented Glen Rose High School well but did not place at state.

All members who competed worked hard to get to State, and would like to thank all teachers and FCCLA members who helped them achieve their goals. The members want to give a special thank you to Angie Robertson for all her contributions to the FCCLA chapter this year. She not only helped us raise funds by printing the Calendar that members sold but put in numerous hours helping with their display boards.
