Special to the Reporter

We were sorry to say goodbye to staff member Amber Shepard. Amber is going to be a stay-at-home mom to her three-year-old daughter Chelsea. We wish her the best of luck. Of course, this means we have an opening in the kitchen for a part-time employee. If you think you might be interested come by the Citizen’s Center and pick up an application.

Tax season is just around the corner. We will have AARP Tax Service available at the Citizen’s Center starting Feb. 2. Please call 897-2139 and ask Sandy to make you an appointment.

Activities at the Center beginning Jan. 26: Wii games on Monday; needlework, ceramics and Tops on Tuesday; monthly birthday party with Margie on Wednesday; Tops, art and David’s grocery shopping on Thursday; bingo with Cindy, quilting and Brookshire’s grocery shopping on Friday.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the home health agencies, nursing homes, and volunteers who assist with different activities at the Citizen’s Center. They are Lori from Family Care of Texas, Guardian Home Health, Lisa from Universal Health, Cindy from Cherokee Rose, Diana from Lee Home Health, Charlene from Community Care, Cindy from Treadway Hearing, and Kent Barnes from First Baptist Church. The individuals I’d like to acknowledge are Alice Lance, Cat Driskell, and Mary Baker.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Lee Mansfield.
