The Tiger Health Club located on N.E. Big Bend Trail was closed last weekend after a dispute between the renters and building owner.

On Monday, the health club’s doors were locked and a printed piece of paper taped to the door. It read: “Landlord has taken over space occupied by Tiger Health Club.”

The property is owned by Paluxy Realty.

Bobby Wilson of Paluxy Realty said he had no comment except to say that lawyers are handling the matter.

The Somervell County Sheriff’s Department was called because of “some sort of dispute between the owner and the renter over non-payment of rent,” Chief Deputy Derrell McCravey said.

The health club’s Ironman treadmills and elliptical machines were visible behind the wall of windows on the second floor of the strip shopping center. Some weight equipment and flat-screen television sets that had been mounted on walls appeared to have been removed.

It’s not known what will happen to health club patrons who purchased memberships, some for up to three years.
