The Alzheimerís Association North Central Texas Chapter will present its 2009 Spring Symposium on Thursday, March 26, in Fort Worth. The event will be at the Riley Center on the campus of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary at 1700 W. Fuller.

More than 12 speakers will be featured, including Dr. Meharvan Singh of the University of North Texas-Health Science Center. Dr. Singh will discuss the current direction of Alzheimerís research. Breakout sessions will cover a variety of topics including the connection between heart and brain, planning ahead to avoid a crisis, senior safety and finding moments of joy. Between sessions, vendor tables will provide an opportunity for participants to learn more about community services and resources.

Family caregivers are invited to attend at no charge. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered for nurses, social workers, activity professionals and long-term care administrators.
