On February 7, Jennifer Ann Mitchell and Douglas Randall Walker were united in marriage with their happy families in attendance. The wedding was held at the Lodge of Granbury with Lake Granbury as the backdrop. Jennifer is the daughter of Ann and Doug Mitchell of Glen Rose and Douglas is the son of Judy and Wes Walker also of Glen Rose.
Bride’s attendants were Audria Umphress, sister of the Groom and best friend of the Bride and Amanda Phillips, also best friend of the Bride.
Groomsmen were Kevin Walker, brother of the Groom and Ryan Walker, the Groom’s son.
The Groom wore a Kenneth Cole Black Tuxedo with a white vest and matching tie, and the groomsmen wore matching tuxedos with red vests and matching ties.
The Bride wore an Alfred Angelo gown with a strapless satin bodice. Crystals and pearls adorned the entire gown. The scallop edged train was also adorned with crystals and pearls. The Bride’s veil was an elbow length creation with crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of red roses with chocolate ribbons.
The Bride’s attendants wore floor length strapless gowns fashioned from chocolate brown satin.
Giving the Bride away were her Mother and Father, Ann and Doug Mitchell.
The reception was held in the banquet room at the Somervell County Expo Center in Glen Rose. The room was decorated warmly with many candles, red roses, chocolate brown tablecloths, crystals, and rose petals. The room felt very romantic, yet fun with the Benji Allen Band performing and the Bride and Groom’s family and friends enjoying good food, dancing and fun.
The happy couple will reside in Glen Rose. The bride is employed by Glen Rose Independent School District, and the groom is employed by Yellow Freight Company.
