First Baptist Church will present “A Celebration of Christmas” Sunday night, featuring children, adult and bell choirs.

The performances begin at 5 p.m. with children presenting "Follow the Star." The Christmas play tells the story of the Magi and their search for the Christ child, and elaborate sets and costumes include “semi-live” camels. The play will be staged in the FBC Family Life Center.

Following the performance, there will be a soup and dessert supper for everyone in attendance. During the meal, church members and guests will entertain diners with Christmas selections.

Then at 6:30, the evening of music will move to the church sanctuary where the Grace Notes Handbell Choir will perform Christmas selections including “Little Drummer Boy” and “Do You Hear What I Hear”.

The Celebration Choir - with the assistance of children - will present the finale at 7. “All is Well,” a moving cantata written by Dennis and Nan Allen tells the Christmas story and why Christ came - to bring joy and peace.

Using exciting contemporary music by composers such as Michael W. Smith and great hymns of the faith, the cantata will reach all audiences with a message - no matter what circumstances are in your life, no matter what trials you may be facing, Christ came for you.

In the words of the author, “Jesus is our source of true and lasting hope, joy and peace, amidst a sea of chaos and uncertainty in this world. When everything and everyone seems to fail you – He is there!” If you are seeking peace and joy this Christmas, join FBC for an evening of blessed music and a time of fellowship.
