The Glen Rose High School and New Focus Somervell County raised $54,000 at the annual spaghetti supper and auction April 20. The Senior Quilt brought in a record $4,000 alone.
The money will be used to fund Project Graduation, which is a safe, drug and alcohol free party for the Class of 2009 after graduation.
Organizers credited the success of this year’s event to the tremendous help they received from parents and students, but also said the support of the Glen Rose community really made the event worthwhile. Numerous businesses and individuals donated items for the auctions and dinner. Many of the same people attended the dinner and purchased other auction items.
The New Focus Board expressed gratitude to the community and to all the people who helped make the event a success for the students.
