Special to the Reporter

When Country Fellowship Church was organized almost two years ago, it decided its purpose was to experience God in worship through singing the great hymns of faith and preaching the life-changing truths of His word.

The church's focus is on senior adults who enjoy worship by singing their favorite hymns and participating in a loving, caring fellowship.

“In Country Fellowship Church, senior adults are respected and supported because they are special people,” said Mac Robinson, the church's pastor.

Robinson retired in 2001 after serving 38 years in Forsan, Fort Worth, Seagoville and Beeville. A year later he moved to Granbury. He became the pastor of Country Fellowship Church in January.

Horace Morgan leads in worship by singing hymns and other special music. He has served as minister of music at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury and at Paluxy and Cottonwood Baptist churches.

On Wednesdays members share a pot-luck meal and Bible studies.

“They understand and support each other in prayer and personal ways through the joys and difficulties unique to senior adults,” Robinson said.

Church members include John Hawkins, Glen Rose Citizen of the Year, and his wife, Jeanette, and City Councilman Bob Stricklin and his wife, Carole. Members live in Glen Rose, Paluxy, Pecan Plantation and other Granbury areas.

“We are scattered, but enjoy a sweet and special fellowship together,” Robinson said.

The church meets for worship at 9 a.m. each Sunday. The Wednesday pot-luck supper, Bible study and prayer time start at 7 p.m.

“You will feel joyfully welcomed and appreciated as you attend,” Robinson said. “This may be the place where you will discover worship that fills your life with joy and meaning.”

Country Fellowship Church is located on State Highway 56, two blocks north of U.S. Highway 67. For more information, call Pastor Mac Robinson at 817-579-6904.
