Prairie Rose Chapter of Native Plant Society of Texas kicks off the new year Tuesday, Jan. 7 with the first in a lineup of informational programs. The organization's monthly meeting begins at 6: 30 p.m. at Somervell County Citizens' Center, located at 209 SW Barnard Street in Glen Rose.?

Prairie Rose will start the year learning how to identify plants with more than just pictures, beginning with basic plant 101. Attendees will get a brief lesson in basic identification terms and jargon common in plant descriptions. Handouts and resources for use at home will be provided.?

Plans will also be made for the remainder of the year, and the organization requests input from current and prospective members.
