Gardeners ready to take their knowledge to the next level are being invited to attend master gardener training. Top notch resources and training will combine to offer more than 60 hours of instruction through upcoming sessions, sponsored by area Texas A&M AgriLife Extension offices.

The 2013 Tri-County Master Gardeners Training is co-sponsored by Somervell, Hood and Johnson County extension offices, with class location rotating between Glen Rose, Granbury and Cleburne. The sessions will be held 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday or Thursday, beginning with an orientation in Glen Rose on Tuesday, March 26.

To become a certified master gardener, an individual must complete a minimum of 50 hours of instruction and 50 hours of community service.

A registration fee of $125 will cover the cost of training materials and refreshments and should be made payable to Somervell County Master Gardeners Association. Registration and background check forms and fees are due no later than Feb. 20 by mailing them to Somervell County Extension Office, P.O. Box 895, Glen Rose, TX 76043.

Applicants will be interviewed in early March.
