An medical helicopter transported a male, reportedly 19 years old, from a U.S. Highway 67 crash scene Friday afternoon.

Witnesses at the scene said the accident victim, who was driving a motorcycle, was not wearing a helmet.

The victim was reportedly traveling west along 67 when he collied with a white Dodge pickup truck that was reportedly stopped to make a left turn on CR 2013, toward Rough Creek Lodge.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m.

Witnesses also said while the victim, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, did not appear to be traveling at an excessive rate of speed but was not able to stop the motorcycle and avoid the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck did not appear to be injured as she spoke with troopers at the scene.

Somervell County EMS took the victim from the collision site to a stretch of highway in front of the rest area, where the helicopter landed.

The crash was being investigated by Texas Highway Patrol while Somervell County Sheriff's deputies directed traffic, which remained at a standstill for some time as the emergency personnel worked clear the scene.
