A Stephenville woman was killed in a Somervell County car crash Saturday.

Nelda Loraine Hatcher, 84, was pronounced dead at a Fort Worth hospital after being transported from the accident scene on U.S. Highway 67.

Hatcher has family - a sister, Lois Gosdin, and brother-in-law, Junior - in Glen Rose, according to her obituary.

Hatcher was traveling west on 67 when the accident occurred at about 8 p.m., according to an accident report provided by Texas Highway Patrol. Her vehicle reportedly left the highway on a curve and struck a culvert. Weather conditions at the time were reported as dry and clear, and the victim was wearing a seatbelt.

Hatcher was a retired school teacher and member of Stephenville's Calvary Baptist Church.

She was pronounced dead at 9:18 p.m. in the emergency room, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lacy Funeral Home in Stephenville. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
