AUSTIN – Jimmie Jerome Hiners, 27, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Bloods gang member, is now in custody after being arrested on Friday in Dallas. Hiners has a violent criminal history and was wanted for aggravated assault and parole violation.

Tip information led Dallas Police Department officers to a local residence where Hiners was captured after a short chase on foot. Since the arrest was the result of a tip, a $10,000 reward will be paid.

So far in 2013, DPS and other agencies have arrested 23 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders, including nine gang members, and $64,500 in rewards has been paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives featured in the Texas 10 Most Wanted Program.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
