FORT WORTH - Elton Wayne "E.W. or Punk" Hilliard, 79, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in Fort Worth, surrounded by family and friends. After successful esophagus surgery, he died suddenly from complications of liver cancer. ?Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 30, at Polytechnic United Methodist Church with graveside service in White Church Cemetery in Glen Rose.
E.W. was born in Walnut Springs to Ruby and Claburn Terrell Hilliard. He married Maudell "Molly" Piper in 1953.
With few words and extraordinary integrity, E.W. was most content spending time with family and friends, piddling in his barn or playing on his tractor.
He owned and operated Hilliard Excavating, was a longtime and devoted member of Poly Methodist Church and a Mealís on Wheels volunteer. The family champion, E.W. was a loving husband, father and Papa. ?Survivors include his adoring wife of 59 years; daughters, Jana Morton and her husband, Jeff, Mandi Raetz and her husband, Tim, Leah James and her husband, Terry; son; Webb Hilliard and his wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Chase Raetz (Taylor), Molly Austin (Casey), Anna Willmoth, Heath Raetz (Megan), Seth Willmoth (Tamara), Aubrey James, Shelbi Raetz, Ashton James, Teryl Hilliard, Piper Hilliard, April Rosier (Greg), Ty Morton and Trent Morton (Robyn); great-grandchildren, Wyatt McCaslin, Kennedy and Kash Hickman; brother, Jerry Hilliard; and sister, Phyllis Hilliard.
