Roberto Gomez Jr., 33, of Walnut Springs passed away on Friday, April 16, in a Granbury Hospital after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, in the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs. Deacon Bill Bolf officiated.

Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Serving as pallbearers were Toby Wilkins, Chris Ortega, Tinus Gomez, Chad Neil, Roland Ortega, Andres Pina, Hugo Chavez, Jose Garduno, Randall Griffin and Brandon Hardin.

Gomez was born April 21, 1976, in DeLeon, Texas. He married Tina Ortega on May 3, 2006, in Meridian. The couple had resided in Walnut Springs since then.

Gomez worked as a pipeliner for Price Pipeline Company. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors are his wife, Tina Gomez; sons Blake and Dawson Gomez; parents, Roberto and Eldemira A. Gomez; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tammy and Martin Ortega, all of Walnut Springs; brother-in-law, Chris Ortega and wife, JoAnna, of Glen Rose; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
