GRANBURY - Genevieve “Gen” Edwina Hansen, 96, passed away peacefully Jan. 18, 2013, in Glen Rose with family by her side.
She was born April 23, 1916, in Racine, Wisc., the daughter of Elwin and Frances (Felzer) Osborn. She was united in marriage to John “Jack” Peter Hansen on Nov. 11, 1939.
Genevieve was appreciated by those who knew her for her sense of humor, optimism and faith. She was very proud of her husband Jack and her two girls, Jacquie and JoAnn.
She loved animals and children and being active whether at work or play. She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter and had a life-long passion for the game of golf. She also enjoyed playing the organ.
She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline (William) Farrell, of Geneva, Illi. and JoAnn (Lee) Bailey of Hico; grandchildren, Jane and husband, Carl Steen, and their children, Jack and Elizabeth, Peter Farrell and his children Will and Erin, Joshua Bailey and his son, Hayden.
In addition to her parents, Genevieve, was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; sisters Audrine, Marion, Winnifred, Jean, Angeline and Madeline; brothers, Richard and MacLean; and her twin brother, David.
A graveside service will be in the future when family gathers.
