GLEN ROSE — Benny L. Brown, 59, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in Glen Rose.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial followed in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Memphis, Tenn., to Bennie Brown and Ida Carter Brown. He married Diane Johnson, April 14, 1979, in Knoxville, Tenn. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for many years for the City of Fort Worth as a Code Enforcement Officer and then as a Consumer Health Specialist. He had also worked for TU Electric for 12 years, Conoco, and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Benny enjoyed living in Glen Rose and all the wonderful people. He prayed everyone could know the God he loved and that he would see them in Heaven.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Justin Melton.
Survivors include a wife, Diana Brown of Glen Rose; daughter, Renee Brown of Okla.; son, Andrew Brown of Glen Rose; sister, Emily Brown and husband, Keith, of Nev.; many wonderful nieces and nephews and other family members; and lots of special friends that he really cared for.
