GLEN ROSE - Hershel E. Brownen, 68, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013.?Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Hershel was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Anadarko, Okla., to Aurthur Edward Brownen and Jewel Trout Brownen. He married Kaye Amos, June 20, 1964, in Gracemont, Okla.

Hershel and Kaye have lived in Glen Rose for 40 plus years. Hershel loved to play pool and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He never met a stranger, and he was always picking on people. His pride and joy was his family and his grandkids.

He worked in the commercial construction industry and spent 10 plus years in Afghanistan and Kosovo in construction supporting our military. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Nathan Dale Brownen, and sister, Connie Gann.?Survivors include wife, Kaye Brownen; sons, Steven Dale Brownen and wife, Shani and Tony Edward Brownen; grandchildren, Tanner Wayne Brownen, Bryse McKena Brownen and Madison McKinney; brother, Jerry Dean Brownen and wife, Pat; and several aunts and uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many friends.
