GRANBURY — Wilma June Thomas, 83, passed away, Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, in Somervell County.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Granbury Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Granbury Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Paducah, to William Sampson Strain and Mamie Lavada Martin Strain. She married Cecil Allen Thomas, June 6, 1947, in Granbury. Mrs. Thomas was a well-known business woman in Hood and Somervell Counties. She was a member of the Granbury Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxillary.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; brothers, Sidney Strain, Bill Strain, Norman Strain, T.J. Strain and Wesley Strain; and sister, Beatrice Montague.

Survivors include son, Dr. Pat Thomas and wife, Debbie, of Hico; daughter, Pamela Ann Carver and husband, Rick, of Granbury; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Fern Strain of Granbury; sisters-in-law, Jewel Thompson, Mary Strain; nieces, nephews; and many dear friends.
