AZLE — Paul L. Copus, 77, passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, in Fort Worth.

A graveside service was held Tuesday in Post Oak Cemetery.

Paul was born April 5, 1933 in Cleburne to Edward L. and Sally Francis Mason Copus. He married Dorothy Louise Gumfory, the love of his life, on July 23, 1955, in Cleburne.

He enjoyed fishing, painting and watching football games on television. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked at Sears as a Sears service technician for more than 20 years.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Welch, and brothers Thomas “Buck” Musgrove, Gene Copus and Norman Copus.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy L. Copus; children James E. Copus and wife, Cathy, Paula L. Salcido and husband, Art, and Norman L. Copus and wife, Cindy; grandchildren Paul, Suellen and Stephen; a great-grandchild, Noah; sister, Joyce Dempsey; many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
