Betty J. Huffman
GLEN ROSE — Betty J. Huffman, 78, of Glen Rose and a former resident of Walnut Springs, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 in the Glen Rose Medical Center/Nursing Facility after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs with Rev. David Leach, pastor of Glen Rose First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow.
Huffman was born Nov. 29, 1930, in Baytown, Texas. She is the daughter of the late Eulice Gene Fruge and Marie Benoit Fruge.
She married Billy F. Huffman on May 22, 1957, in Hayward, Ca., where she lived for several years before returning to Texas. She and her husband lived in Walnut Springs before moving to Glen Rose in 1978. Betty was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Her husband, Billy F. Huffman, daughter, Belinda Folsom and a granddaughter, Tiffany Klarich, preceded her in death.
Survivors include son, Johnny Huffman of Clifton; grandchildren Kelli Burney and husband, Will; Marci Simmons and husband, Lance; Shannon Berlinger and husband, Scott; Clayton Folsom and wife, Amanda; sister, Trixie Burns of Baytown; eight great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
