MASON - Beatrice G. Gamel, 83, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 7, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Gooch Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Mason Funeral Home.

She was born April 19, 1924, between Meretta and Ardmore, Okla., to Roy Estes and Lillie Brawley Estes. She was one of 12 children. They moved to Mason in 1933. She married Ernest Johnnie Gamel on June 17, 1944, and they were blessed with three daughters. She worked for many years as a waitress at Hilltop Diner and retired in 1990. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved taking care of her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Lillie Estes; her husband of 53 years, Ernest Gamel; her daughter, Darlene Clifton; and six siblings Christine Estes, Lee Estes, Leo Estes, Clarence Estes, Bertha Collins and Velma Crum.

Mrs. Gamel is survived by two daughters Carolyn Martin and husband Dewayne of Mason and Cathey Henrich and husband Rick of Katy; three brothers Lindell Estes and wife Betty of Mason, Wilmar Estes of San Jose, Calif., and Tommy Estes of Glroy, Calif.; two sisters Vivia Selph of San Martine, Calif., and Opal Norton of Brady; ten grandchildren, Nancy Douglas of Glen Rose, Barbie Pearson of Austin, James Clifton of Katy, John Clifton of Glen Rose, Chris Clifton of Cleburne, Farrah Clifton of Mason, Mindy Deltoro of Glen Rose, Coy Henrich of Corpus Christi, Wes Henrich of Katy and Ty Henrich of Houston; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
