GLEN ROSE - Billy C. Miller, 85, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at his residence.
?A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the First Baptist Church in Glen Rose with burial in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow.
Family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home.?
Mr. Miller was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Rainbow, to Jack E. Miller and Susie Bunt Miller. He married Robena Connally, July 12, 1946, in Glen Rose.
Billy lived all his life in Somervell County and was a member of First Baptist Church in Glen Rose.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1946-1947. Billy served as Somervell County commissioner for 12 years. He was on the school board from 1950-1972 and served as president his last two terms.
Billy farmed and ranched in Somervell County. He was a roper in his younger years and loved to watch rodeos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.?Survivors include wife, Robena Miller of Glen Rose; sons, Bill C. Miller, Jr. and wife, Sandy, of Palacios, Jack E. Miller and wife, Carlane, of Duncan, Okla., Bob Miller and wife, Pam, of Glen Rose; daughters, Connie Miller Scott and husband, Scotty, of Glen Rose, Nancy Miller Moore and husband, Pete, of Nemo; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
