WOODBINE — Hugh Thomas Wilson, 71, of Woodbine, Texas, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at his residence. A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel in Gainesville, with Rev. John Dickey officiating.
Wilson graduated from Callisburg High School where he played basketball. He worked for North Texas Meat Packers as a butcher. Later he worked for the Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant as a painter. He was also a member of the National Guard. Amongst other things, he especially loved the outdoors. The last few years of his life, through his sickness, reaffirmed his faith through baptism in 2006 and used his Father for strength and comfort for himself and others.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Dale Wilson; wife Barbara Wilson; and great granddaughter Emillie Terrie Northcutt.
Wilson is survived by daughters Paulette Wilson Britain and Roxanna Bewley; son Bobby Wilson; brother Gordon Wilson; grandchildren Cody Banks, Brittany Banks, Waylon Wilson, and Nicole Calhoun; and great grandchildren Tara Banks, Derek Banks, and Candice Calhoun who shares her birthday with her great grandfather.
