RAINBOW — Erna G. Cort (Jerrye), 85, passed away on March 21, 2008.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Rainbow Baptist Church.
Jerrye was born in Colgate, Okla., on Jan. 3, 1923.
Jerrye was a member of the Rainbow Baptist church. Her Sunday school class was very special to her. And her red-hatter sisters were a part of her life she looked forward to every month.
Jerry owned and operated Benbrook beauty saloon in Benbrook for years. She also sold Avon for a number of years in the Handley area of Fort Worth. She was district sales manager several years in a row and won several awards.
Jerrye and her husband, George, were both very active in AA and can be credited with helping a lot of people.
Jerrye and her husband moved to Rainbow to be close to her girls and for her to take care of her mother, who was in the nursing home at that time. She went every day to take care of her mother and to give care to anyone that needed her.
Jerrye loved her extended family and will be missed by us all.
She was preceded in death by husband, George Cort; parents, Mary and Bill Moss; sisters, Louise Cockrell, Adina Lamb and husband, Jerry of Glen Rose and Billie Duckworth of Seminole; brothers, Wilborn Moss and U.L. Moss, granddaughter, Danielle Hulsey; and son-in-law, Charles Hulsey.
Jerrye is survived by a son, Sonny Wiggins and wife, Debbie, of Fort Worth; daughters, Barbara Jane Hulsey and Judy Vancine and husband, Robert Hulsey, all of Rainbow; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a great, great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the Rainbow Baptist Church building fund, or a charity of your choice.
