RAINBOW - Robert C. Long, 79, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 1933, in Fort Worth.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Interment will be in Bethesda Cemetery in Burleson.
Family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.?Robert was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Gonzales to Virgil Clinton and Lula Mae Chase Long. He married Elaine Summerlin in 1959 in Fort Worth.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and retired from General Motors in 1995 after 32 years of service. Robert worked as an electrician in residential and business construction and owned the American Country Antique Mall in Rainbow.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and wood working of all kinds. He had lived in Rainbow for 13 years and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2004 and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Terri Tankersley of Glen Rose; sons, Rick and wife, Jessica Long of Burleson, Kerry Gene Long of Rainbow and Robert C. Long, Jr. of Perryton; grandchildren, Tatjana Long, Katarina Long, Leeya Davis, Bryant Tankersley, Brennan Davis and Shelby Tankersley; great-grandchildren, Guillermo Mazriegos and Connor Barrett; and very dear friend, Connie Sisk of Rainbow.
