GLEN ROSE — Sid L. Knight, 80, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, in Glen Rose.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Wiley Funeral Home. will be in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Knight was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Granbury, to Charles C. Knight and Mattie Bell Smethers Knight. He married Sallie Elizabeth Faries, Nov. 25, 1950, in Comanche. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a foreman for the Texas Highway Department for 28 years.
Knight was a member of the Glen Rose First Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Sallie Knight on June 3, 2010; son, Daniel "Danny" Knight in 1996; two sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors are his daughter, Carrie Knight-Mapes and husband, Don, of Glen Rose; grandchildren, Alex, Bailey and Austin; great-grandchild, Molly; sisters Irene Reed and Charlsa Carroll, both of Granbury; brother, Joe Knight, of Tolar; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
