LULING - David Lee Osborn went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Seton Hospital in Kyle, Texas, as a result of a heart attack, long battle with cancer and lung problems.

He was born on Dec. 25, 1939, in Abilene, the son of Elias Dement Osborn and Bertha Lorraine Everett Osborn.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; first wife, Linda (Malaer) Osborn (the mother of his two children); brother-in-law, Dr. Ted Shields of Victoria; and sister-in-law, Jackie (Biggs) Redding of Luling.

David worked most of his life in the oil business around Luling, Gonzales and Giddings. He was a member of the Idianola Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Johnilee "Dunp" (Biggs) Osborn, of Luling; two children, Chris Osborn and wife Sherry of Humble and Robin Osborn and Leslie Folsom of Austin; and two sisters, Boo Summers and husband, Bob, of Glen Rose and Judie Shields of Victoria; uncle, Robert Everett, of Glen Rose; step-mother, Martha Osborn; step-sister, Yoli (Osborn) Gallegos, and husband, Pepe, and children, Scarlotte and Elias Osborn, of Fresnillo, Mexico.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Tiffany, Nicole, Brittany, Scott and Christopher; nieces and nephews, Loraine (Pack) Turner, Bruce Pack, Renae (Redding) Tuck, Temple Summers, Tyler Summers and Trent Summers; great-nieces and nephews, Colton Turner, Emily Turner, Britnie Tucker, Christa Tucker, Jesikah Tucker, Jeron Tucker and Jonathan Tucker; and very special nephew, Joseph Tucker.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at O'Bannon Funeral Home in Luling, with Brother Frank Boldt of Victoria officiating. Burial will follow in the McNeil Cemetery.
