GLEN ROSE - Eldon Hooley, 74, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Fort Worth.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Wiley Funeral Home.

Eldon was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Hot Springs, Mont., to John and Edna Mullis Hooley. He married Sheri Procell, Jan. 19, 1991, in Fort Worth. Eldon retired from the U.S. Navy, serving from 1955 to 1975. From 1993 to 2001, Eldon was employed as a maintenance supervisor for STM Equipment in Arlington.

Since moving to Glen Rose in 1998, he was active in the Rugged Oaks Bird Habitat. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Glen Rose where he built and drove the church's train for school and town events as well as for the Lord's Acre events.

Survivors include his wife, Sheri Hooley of Glen Rose; daughters, Melanie McDade of Flint and Tammy Hooley of Tyler; step-son, John Patty and wife, Kristi, of Glen Rose; grandsons, Cordell Fowler of Flint, Dalton Patty of Glen Rose, Ty Rucker of Tyler and Nicholas Hooley of Tyler; sisters, Mary Hukkanen and husband, John, of Fairfield, Calif., Kathy Curt of Hubbard, Ore.; brothers, Jack Hooley of Warden, Wash., Ken Hooley and wife, Dawn, of Mollalla, Ore.; numerous nieces, nephews and 21 first cousins.
