"We are all infinite spiritual beings just having a temporary human experience."?The journey through this human experience began for Loyd in Iowa Park, Texas, on August 10, 1936. He was born to parents George and Lorene Lewis. Through them, he was nurtured and learned of God's infinite love.
After graduating valedictorian of his senior class at Iowa Park High School in 1954, his journey took him to Texas Tech, where he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering, thus beginning a successful career in avionics.
During his career at General Dynamics, LTV, Technology Development Corp. and Lockheed Martin, Loyd was greatly respected for his abilities and work ethics.
In his early adulthood, he married Joyce Stephenson and together they had two children, Laura and Kevin. Loyd was a wonderful and loving father and taught his children the importance of family. He taught them a love for snow and water skiing, motor biking, camping and an appreciation of nature.
In 1987, Loyd met Janice May Tidwell. They were married on April 1, 1989, on April Fool's Day. They traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, enjoying life to it's fullest. For their retirement years, they built and opened a beautiful log home/ bed & breakfast on the Brazos River in Glen Rose, Cedars on the Brazos.
This journey of Loyd's "temporary human experience" ended peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. The family offers its sincere gratitude to American Hospice, Lee Home Health and Dr. Aimee Coker. We also wish to express our thanks to the many wonderful family and friends who have blessed our lives by their presence and loving thoughts and prayers.
