Peter "Jordan" Moore
Peter "Jordan" Moore, loving husband and father, was called home by his Lord and Savior on June 23, 2021.
Jordan was born on September 1, 1984, to Eugene "Pete" Moore and Nancy Miller Moore in Amarillo, Texas. His adventurous spirit began at a very early age. Whether it be a hunting trip to deer camp in New Mexico with his daddy, playing any and every sport around, scouting the incoming storms, or scaling the washing machine to get to the forbidden treasures, he conquered them all. In Mrs. Rozier's kindergarten class he met his life long friend, Braxton Harris. The two would grow to support each other in all life had to offer. In 1996 his father purchased Glen Rose Auto Parts and relocated the family. Jordan thrived as a fighting tiger and actively led the local FFA chapter.
Jordan graduated from Glen Rose High School in 2003. It was here that Jordan met Katy and it didn't take long for these high school sweethearts to form a strong bond that would lead to marriage and a lifetime together. It was also during this time where Jordan's deep and genuine love for his beloved hometown of Glen Rose began and would continue to grow.
Jordan and Katy married on June 11, 2005, and they perfectly complimented each other. Jordan was the calm and quiet to the bold and fearless Katy. He was the voice of reason and greatest support that she could have ever asked for. Above all else, he loved her and did everything he could to make all of their dreams come true. The other love of his life was their three kids - Penny, Lette, and Carter. He was actively involved in all parts of their lives and took pride in teaching them about all the things he was passionate about. He was a steady and gentle father who could always be counted on to love and support them. He instilled his values in each of them and was truly a devoted husband and father.
Jordan attended Texas Tech University for one year prior to transferring to Texas A&M University, where Jordan majored in meteorology. After graduating, Jordan and Katy moved to Katy, Texas to begin their careers. During this time Jordan attended Tulane University in Houston for an MBA. After almost a decade away, their love for family and Glen Rose brought them home.
They became active members of First United Methodist Church where they grew their family and love for Jesus. Jordan was an active member, serving on the board of trustees. Jordan's love for meteorology and the weather extended to his love for the outdoors. Whether it was camping with family and friends, hunting & fishing, or road trips to explore the country, Jordan made sure to live life to the fullest. He also enjoyed providing emergency weather coverage for the community.
Jordan loved supporting local commerce and assisting others in making their small businesses thrive. His hardworking nature eventually led him to his current endeavor, as owner and operator of Glen Rose Auto Parts, once again, following in his father's footsteps. Glen Rose Auto Parts returned as an unexpected joy in his life. His passion for the town, his family, small business, and his desire to help others were poured into the store and how he managed it. He loved having his fellow community members come into the shop and visit, and for them to bring their kids to look and play with all of the fun tools and gadgets.
Jordan's servant heart always focused on making sure others were taken care of, whether it was family, friends, or this great community. He was a calm and stabilizing force wherever he went, and he added a positive outlook on any situation. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jordan is survived by his wife, Katy Fain Moore; his twin daughters, Penelope "Penny" Moore and Charlotte "Lette" Moore; his son, Carter Moore; his parents Pete and Nancy Moore; his sisters, Kellie and Katie, their husbands; his two brothers-in-law, Drew and Preston Jones, their wives, and his many nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored.
A celebration of Jordan's life will be held at the Glen Rose Methodist Church at 10:30 am on Monday June 28, 2021 and will be followed by a lunch at the Family Center.
In lieu of flowers, Katy's friends and family have set up a college fund at First Financial Bank for Penny, Lette, and Carter. Donations can be made by either mailing a check to Katy Moore at First Financial Bank, P.O.
