Andy Lucas

Andy Lucas was born to Weldon "Buddy" Lucas and Valerie Forrester Lucas on May 15, 1972 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on January 28, 2022 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Andy was a standout athlete at Richardson High School, excelling in football and baseball. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Southwest Texas State University and his law degree from Baylor University. He and his bride, Teri Shannan Lucas, were married on April 13, 2013, at their home in Glen Rose, Texas. Andy loved his little piece of the country in Somervell County and spent much of his free time outdoors.

Andy was elected and sworn in as the Somervell County Attorney in 2013. He was a steward of justice and proud public servant, taking his role of prosecutor to heart and striving to uphold the law and veracity in the courtroom. Prior to his service to the County, he served the City of Glen Rose as defense attorney. He was an advocate for children and sought to help everyone who walked in his office. In addition to his professional service, Andy was a member of the Glen Rose Lions Club since 2004, serving as its President in 2016-2017.

Andy was a wordsmith, witty, loved history and trivia. Road trips with Andy included quizzes on city populations, famous persons birthplaces, and many other interesting tidbits that he carried at the ready. He was an excellent writer and took any opportunity to pen letters and cards to friends and family. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, supportive brother, loyal son, and a good and faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
