Informed voting is a choice

Do you feel your vote does not matter? Do you have concerns regarding decisions made in local governmental groups, i.e., the city, the school board, and/or the water board? Are you satisfied with the current “elected representative” on the city council, school board or water board?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, then Let Your Voice be Heard by VOTING in the upcoming May Elections.

Reasons to Vote:

1.We cannot change the past, but the future is in our power through informed VOTING.

2.Strength comes in numbers, making each single VOTE count for our Community.

3.Expressing our view point is reflected through the VOTING PROCESS.

4.Informed VOTING shows pride in our Community.

5.Your VOTE tells representatives that they are accountable to you, the citizen.

6.VOTE to ensure a positive future for our children and grandchildren.

7.VOTE early to set a good example for others.

The number of voters who turn out affects the quality of each entity’s leadership and the future of our community. (NOTE: In the May 2010 city elections, only 7 percent of the 1,500 registered voters in the city of Glen Rose voted.) How many registered voters voted in past school board and/or water board elections? Did you?

As a member of this generous and historic community, our task is to do all we can and not wait on others. Our responsibility is to be an informed voter, then VOTE OUR VOICE. Together we can continue to ensure our community with a thriving and positive future.

SHOW YOU CARE BY CHOOSING TO VOTE!

Thank you for caring,

Sandra Ramsay

Editor's note: Sandra Ramsay is a candidate for the remaining year of the term of former city council member Barbara Mitchell.
