With all due respect to Mr. Spurgin, I would like to take this opportunity to speak about my experiences with Darlene Chambers and her staff.
As the mother of a large family with multiple vehicles requiring numerous trips to the tax collector’s office during the course of the past 14 years, I have never experienced the kind of treatment described. Terry, Yolanda, Shirley, Darlene, and even former staff member Karen have always been courteous and helpful and knowledgeable.
Most of my business has been conducted with the ladies in the front, however, if it gets busy, the ladies in the back have come to assist. I am sorry Mr. Spurgin has had a less than pleasant experience, but I felt compelled to say that office is one that I never dread visiting.
In response to the letter from Eddy Spurgin, I go to Darlene Chambers’ office many times each year to register the vehicles for my husband’s business and family. Darlene is there in her office every time. As for “customer service,” everyone is always
Pleasant and eager to get the transactions taken care of quickly and accurately. On many occasions, Darlene herself has taken care of my business. My experience with these ladies is always professional and they are always courteous.
This is a response to the letter from Eddy Spurgin concerning customer service at the Somervell County tax collector’s office. As a long-time Somervell County resident with two vehicles to register each year, I have made many trips into the tax collector’s office. Each time either Darlene Chambers or one of her staff members has given me prompt, courteous service. Any other customer in the office at the same time has appeared to receive the same kind of service.
