I would like to thank all of the students and teachers who have brought joy to my life. I had the joy of watching our Glen Rose students perform one of the best plays I have seen in a long time. I want thank Mr. Kienbaum and all of the students who are taking theater arts for the Christmas play they recently performed. These people spent many hours woking hard to put this play together, and I was upset that there were not more people there to watch the play.

If you have been to any of the football games this year, I am sure you were impressed with the way the Tiger Band performed at halftime. Mr. Portillio and the students spend many hours working to get it right, and I hope you will tell them how much you enjoy their efforts. If you think they are good on the field, try coming to one of their concerts. I am not sure, but I think there are seven members that made All Region Band. That is a great honor. Glen Rose should be proud of our band and support them at every opportunity.

Hats off to Mr. Teal and the choirs from both the high school and junior high school as they are laying a foundation that will grow into the best in the state. I have heard them on several occasions, and they are getting better each time.

I would ask parents to encourage their children to take choir because the world will always need someone who can sing and bring joy to others.

I would encourage everyone to support our fine arts students every time you get a chance. These students need to know others enjoy their efforts.

Additionally, I want to thank the school board and people of Glen Rose for giving our students the opportunity to participate in these fine arts programs. They bring so much enjoyment to everyone who hears - and sees - them
