The Optimist Club's Youth of the Month for January were Bailey Brown and Hunter Burney.  

Bailey Brown

Academics include: Bailey has been on the AB Honor Roll and also commended on TAKS reading and math.

Leadership includes: Bailey is a member of the Student Council and a Cheerleader.

Achievements includes: Bailey has been All American Cheerleader 2 years; A team basketball 2 years; A team volleyball 2 years; participates on relays in track; had the Grand Champion pig this year and Reserved Grand Champion last year at the stock show.

Community involvement includes: Bailey has participated in the 4th of July and Homecoming parades.



Hunter Burney

Academics include: Hunter has been on the A and AB Honor Roll; enrolled in Pre-app Science, English, Math and History classes; received end-of-the-years Science award.

Leadership includes: Hunter is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and participated in Rachel's Challenge.

Achievements includes: Hunter was the Luminant Scholarship Essay winner; 2nd in District UIL Science; participated in UIL Ready Writing, Maps, Graphs & Charts; participates in football and basketball.

Community involvement includes: Hunter is a member of First Baptist church; volunteered at Glen Rose Medical Center Nursing Home; 4-H member; showed goats at the Somervell County Youth Fair; member of 4-h Relay for Life Team; participant in Disciple Now at First Baptist Church.
