??STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton State University's Turfgrass Management program and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Erath County have partnered to offer the public a turfgrass management seminar Friday, Jan. 31, at the university’s agriculture center.

The free event is from 2-4 p.m. at the teaching pavilion located on College Farm Road.?

The program will cover several topics with the focus on water conservation in the home lawn and landscape, pre-emergent and post-emergent control of weeds in turf and fertility management. The sessions will be led by Dr. Dotty Woodson, extension program specialist in water resources; Dr. Hennen Cummings, associate professor and director of Tarleton’s turfgrass program; and Dr. Whit Weems, Erath County Extension agent.?

Woodson will discuss irrigation management techniques that will help conserve water, which reduces the overall water footprint and can help reduce water bills.?

One hour of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered to those in attendance with a TDA pesticide applicator license.?

A tour of Tarleton’s Turfgrass Field Lab is included.?
