STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton State Universityís rodeo teams at this yearís College National Finals Rodeo will be in the television spotlight Friday, Aug. 16.
The best action from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Associationís premier event will be featured on ESPNU. The college rodeo action begins airing at 5 p.m. with ESPNU televising two hours of competition from the 65th annual CNFR, held in Casper, Wyo., June 5-16. The second show will begin at 6 p.m.
Additional airings of each show can be seen throughout the month of August.
ESPNUís programming will include action from the finals as well as interviews and features from the entire finals week and portions of the CNFR awards ceremony. Hosting the ESPNU College Rodeo series are Boyd Polhamus and Bob Tallman.
Tarleton was represented by 11 students among the more than 400 qualifiers from over 100 colleges and universities at this yearís CNFR, an event thatís known as the ďRose Bowl of College Rodeo.Ē
Both the Tarleton menís and womenís teams captured third place at the CNFR, while Billy Bob Brown earned the national title in team roping and this yearís All-Around Cowboy award. Prior to the CNFR, Tarletonís teams won the NIRA Southwest Region menís and womenís championships.
