Senior Drayden James and freshman Austin Worthen of the Glen Rose High School boys basketball squad were voted to the all-District 8-4A second team for the 2017-2018 season.

Worthen is a 5-9 point guard. James is listed as a 6-1 center.

Also for the GRHS boys, senior Logan Thames and freshman Kolton Mooney received honorable mentions. Thames is a 6-2 forward. Mooney is a 5-7 guard.

Tigers’ head coach Owen Clifton also announced that eight of his varsity players earned academic all-district honors.

They are Conner Hansen, Isaac Emerson, Adrian Lewis, Logan Thames, Jett Gould, Austin Worthen, Kasen Keese and Chance Hatfield.

The Tigers finished in fifth place in the final District 8-4A standings, with a 4-8 record, but went into their season-ending loss to state-ranked Waxahachie Life School with a chance to make the playoffs. Godley, the fourth-place playoff qualifier, was 5-7. The season record for the Tigers was 11-23.
