The Glen Rose High School varsity boys cross country team members all set personal records when they competed last Friday in the Cleburne Buzz Run, with Colby Pounds leading the way with a 7th-place finish in the division for Class 4A and under.
On the girls side, the Lady Tigers were competing “up” in the Class 5A-6A division and Jocelyn Mims took 11th place.
The Glen Rose Invitational meet, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, has been changed to Friday, Sept. 21, to be held at Dinosaur Valley State Park. The day of the meet was changed because of the muddy conditions from recent rains, coach Ramsay Ghazal said. The varsity girls are scheduled to start at 8 a.m., followed by the varsity boys at 8:30, junior varsity girls at 9 and JV boys at 9:30.
Pounds posted a time of 16:38.67 for 7th place. Next for the Tigers were Orrin Miller (18th, 17:27.86), Carson Osborne (31st, 17:59.88), Dristan Cathey (18:20.73) and Gage Cathey (41st, 66th, 19:26.40).
River Oaks Castleberry won the varsity boys division with 44 points, while Glen Rose was sixth with 156.
In the girls division, Jocelyn Mims finished in 11th place with a personal-best time of 18:55.51.
Next for the Lady Tigers was Laura Ogletree (91st, 21:40.53), followed by Salma De Reza De Loera (97th, 21:48.95). With only three girls competing in the varsity division, there were not enough to place in the team standings.
