The Glen Rose High School boys cross country team qualified to advance to the Region I-4A meet and Jocelyn Mims qualified for the second year in a row based on their performances at the District 7-5A meet held at Stephenville City Park.
The top three teams and the top 10 individuals advance out of district. The regional meet is set for Oct. 22 at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
Mims took fifth place overall with a time of 12:59.54 on the girls 3,200-meter course.
GRHS boys Orrin Miller and Colby Pounds took third and fourth place, respectively. Miller finished in 18:17.65, and Pounds had a time of 18:31.85.
Next for the Tigers on the 5,000-meter boys course were Dristan Cathey (ninth, 19:10.09) and Carson Osborne (10th, 19:22.12). Mason Daniels was 14th with a time of 20:10.75, Gage Cathey was 21st with a 21:10.86 and Aiden Gartrell 25th in 21:57.63.
Stephenville won the varsity boys team title while the Tigers were second.
GRHS finished just out of the running for a team regional berth, taking fourth behind Stephenville, Brownwood and Godley.
Zaidey Mills of GRHS was 20th with a time of 14:10.21. Next for the Lady Tigers were Salma De Reza De Loera (23rd, 14:44.79), Delaila Gomez (25th, 14:52.70), Laura Ogletree (28th, 15:07.14), Catherine Ogletree (29th, 15:31.14) and Kloey Massey (16:06.50). Laura Ogletree, now a senior, was a state qualifier as a freshman.
