In their final tune-up before Lone Star Conference action begins, Tarleton improved to 5-1 by cruising past Oklahoma Panhandle State 94-70 Saturday night in Wisdom Gym.
The Texans were led by a 27-point scoring performance from Corinthian Ramsey, who went 8-12 from beyond the arc and 9-14 from the field. His eight three-pointers in the game are the third-most in a single game in program history.
Jesse Hill and Ramsey got the game started with back-to-back buckets for a quick 5-0 lead that ultimately started a 15-3 run over the first five minutes. The Texans maintained a double-digit lead over the rest of the opening half with Panhandle only coming as close as 11 with 6:05 left in the first period.
A Ramsey trey pushed the lead back to 14 and started an 18-6 Tarleton surge over the rest of the half to send the Texans into halftime with a 48-25 lead. Tarleton cruised in the second half, pushing the lead out to as many as 32 with 4:29 left. The Aggies ended the game on a 14-6 run, but the damage was long done by the Texans.
