The Glen Rose Tigers smacked 14 hits as they posted an 8-5 baseball victory over Dallas Sunset Monday afternoon at the Texas Rangers Youth Academy in Dallas.

Ashton Smith drove in three runs for the Tigers, going 2-for-4 with a double. Teammate Jadon Harper was 4-for-4.

Coach James Evans’ Tigers, who scored at least one run in six of the seven innings, improved to 8-3 on the season.

Also for GRHS, Ricky Douglas was 3-for-4 and Jett Gould went 2-for-4 and drove in one run. Coby Riley and River Costello added one hit each.

Michael Watson, who pitched three innings in relief of starter Jadon Harper, earned the victory. Watson allowed one run on one hit while striking out six in three innings.

Haper gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits in two frames.

Coby Riley pitched the final two innings and did not allow a hit but walked two.

The Tigers were scheduled to play Thursday and Friday in a tournament in Graham. Their next game will be March 19 at Springtown.
