The Glen Rose High School varsity softball squad dropped its District 7-4A opener on Tuesday in Brownwood, 7-1.

Coach Kiel Miller’s Lady Tigers were limited to four hits by all-district Brownwood pitcher Chyanne Ellett, who worked all seven innings for the win.

Kaycee Bock was 2-for-3 at the plate and had the lone RBI for Glen Rose. Taylor McKenzie, Tatum Stegint had the other two hits for the Lady Tigers.

McKenzie pitched the first two frames and took the loss. She allowed all seven runs on seven hits while striking out one and walking one.

Addison Nance pitched the final four innings, giving up just two hits. She also struck out one and walked one.

The Lady Tigers are now 14-9-1 overall and 0-1 in district.

District play was scheduled to continue on Friday, March 22, at home against Stephenville. The varsity game is set for 7 p.m. The next game for the Lady Tigers will be at Mineral Wells on March 22.
