A little extra inning work never hurt anyone — especially when it ends up as a 10-9 victory.

After Godley had rallied from a three-run deficit to take a 9-8 lead, the Glen Rose Lady Tigers tied it in the seventh inning and then won it with another run in the bottom of the eighth.

Belle McDonald drove in three of the Glen Rose runs.

The District 7-4A triumph evened the district record of the Lady Tigers at 1-1, following their March 26 loss at Mineral Wells, 8-5.

The Lady Tigers out-hit Godley 15-10, getting three hits each from Addison Nance and Courtney Morris. Taylor McKenzie, Morris, Alexis Drugan and Mallory Goff contributed one RBI apiece.

Taylor McKenzie, who worked 4-1/3 innings in relief of Nance, was the winning pitcher. McKenzie gave up four runs on seven hits, but only one was earned. She struck out four and walked none.

The Lady Tigers were scheduled to play at home Friday, April 5, against Brownwood (7 p.m. varsity start). Their next game will be at Stephenville on April 9 (7 p.m.).
