Senior Orrin Miller took first place as Glen Rose High School placed second overall in the varsity boys division of the District 7-4A cross country meet Tuesday in Stephenville to earn spots in the regional meet, while Lady Tigers Jocelyn Mims and Mignon Miller earned the right to advance by finishing among the top 10 individuals in the girls division.

The top three teams in the girls and boys division qualified for the regional meet, which will be Oct. 28 in Lubbock. The Lady Tigers, led by Mims in third place and Mignon Miller in eighth, narrowly missed a regional berth, taking fourth place. Mims, a junior, is a two-time state qualifier.

Orrin Miller won the boys 5,000-meter race with a time of 17:47. Next for the Tigers was senior Carson Osborne, eighth with a time of 18:43.

Mims posted a time of 12:37 on the girls 3,200-meter course. Mignon Miller, a freshman who is Orrin Miller’s sister, ran a 13:02.
